My biggest problem has been following conversations when my kids and grandkids are all talking around the table. I could hear everyone, but I kept missing pieces of what they were saying. After getting used to the settings, conversations felt easier for me to follow.
I bought these mainly because I was constantly turning the television up. I still adjust the volume depending on what I'm watching, but dialogue is easier for me to keep up with now. The charging case is also much simpler than dealing with tiny batteries.
They weren't perfect the first day. I had them turned up too high and everything sounded stronger than I wanted. Once I backed the setting down and wore them for a few days, they became much more comfortable for me. There is definitely a little learning curve.
What I appreciate most is that both sides came together with the case. I charge everything at night and put them on in the morning when I need them. I'm not very good with complicated electronics, so I was relieved that the routine was pretty straightforward.
Restaurants are still the most challenging place for me, especially when they're crowded. These don't magically make all the background noise disappear, but I've found that the right setting makes it easier for me to stay with the person sitting across from me.
I hesitated because I've bought cheap amplifiers before and they mostly made every noise louder. What I like about these is having more control. I use a lower setting around the house and adjust them when the room gets busier.
